Bridal Shower

Setting up a bridal shower for someone is a very important job. If you don’t want to feel overwhelmed by it make sure you get some people to help you. Traditionally it is the responsibility of the maid of honor and the bridal party to host this event. You want to take the wishes of the bride into consideration for the event too.

Make sure you schedule the date for the event well in advance. That way people can mark it on their calendars. If you wait too long people will already have other obligations they are committed to. Before you send out the invitations though you need to know what will be taking place.

Is it going to be a large affair or something small and intimate? It depends on how many people the bride is close to when you consider all her friends and family. Not as many people will be invited to this event though as they will to the actual wedding. Where will the event take place? You can choose to do it at someone’s home, an outdoor area such as a public park, or rent a location to hold it in.

It is customary to offer some type of food and drink at the bridal shower. You can keep it simple with some light snacks, cake, and punch. You can also host a nice lunch either with foods you prepare or at a restaurant. It all depends on the overall cost that you want to spend. It doesn’t have to be expensive to host an amazing bridal shower.

Make sure the invitations have all the necessary information on them. Let each guest know what you will be offering in the way off food too. That way they will know if they should eat before they come or not. If the children are welcome or to be excluded from the event make sure that is listed as well. Those are things that your guests will worry about and have questions about.

Make sure you go over the guest list with the bride. You want to make sure you don’t forget anyone special to her. You may know her close friends and family. However, there may be co-workers and individuals from the groom’s side that you aren’t familiar with. The bride can also supply you with the addresses for those people you aren’t familiar with.

Plan some games for the bridal shower that will allow everyone to get to know each other. Chances are there are plenty of guests who won’t be acquainted with each other. Instead of seeing small groups of people here and there during the event plan things that will get everyone interacting together.

Have some prizes to offer the winners of the various games you play. They don’t have to be anything elaborate. You can offer bath items, candy, and fun party favors. You should have a party bag of items to give each guest as they leave. This is to thank them for coming to the bridal shower. You can put whatever you want into them.
